My view about Academics

The important factor which influences quality of education is the conduct of classes. Faculty members should engage the classes as per the schedule with passion and commitment. He must exhibit himself as role model in terms of punctuality, discipline and commitment. Both the teachers and students should enjoy the teaching session.

Transparency is the backbone of any successful education system. Academic rules, regulations, policies, procedures should be well defined and made known to all stakeholders.

A good Quality education system should also have effective feedback and monitoring system. Feedback should not only be collected on performance of teacher. Feedback should also be taken on various parameters which affect quality of education. Objective of feedback system should be to correct and improve the system and not to find fault with the people. Feedback mechanism should include collecting feedback through Questionnaire, personal interaction with students, voluntary feedback from students, etc.

Independent Study Hour !

Students need time to ignite their own thinking without having too many pressures. There is no point in teaching more and more courses and taking more and more classes for each subject. When more contents are taught, the students are over loadeel, stressed and in many cases they may pass more number of subjects, without understanding the subject matter. This type of approach (Independent Study Hour) brings motivation and enables the students to pay more interest in the subject which in turn contributes to enhance the quality of education.

If an educational institution is committed to give high quality education, it should be built on values and ethics and be innovating in offering its teaching programmes. High quality education system should lay & strong foundation to “Values” among students. Under such circumstances, it should look for individuals not only with intelligence and subject expertise but also with “Missionary Zeal”.

India : Education

India’s one major wealth is YOUTH which presently stands at 64% of the total population. India is going to establish 14 world-class innovative institutions on the Public-Private Partnership with strong research backup. This is a strategy for “Brain-Gain” as against “Brain-Drain” to attract global talent. Education in ancient India was highly advanced as evident from the centres of learning that existed in the Buddhist monasteries of the 7th century BC up to the 3rd century AD Nalanda. In these centres, Gurukul-issed to be engaged in intellectual debates-in residential campuses.
